"Reflections on Love"

Join the Colette Harding Contemporary Dance Company and Tangocentric for an intimate and casual studio showing on Sunday, May 29th at 3:00pm.

CHCDC and Tangocentric present:

“Reflections on Love”

Hosted by: Colette Harding, CHCDC & Susan Lake, Tangocentric.
Reflections on Love is an intimate look at love from both a youthful and experienced perspective. It poses questions on what is believed of love in our youth, and what insight on love is true once a life is fully lived.

This performance will be held in a very casual setting,
an in-studio performance, and is open to all.

Colette Harding, CHCDC Artistic & Executive Director:
Colette Harding is the Artistic Director and Choreographer for the Colette Harding Contemporary Dance Company, based in San Diego, CA. As CHCDC’s Director, Colette has always been inspired to create and express emotions, concepts, observations and stories through dance. To her, movement is the most honest form of human expression. Originally from the East Coast, Colette has choreographed and performed in dance companies across the USA. Recent presentations include a collaboration with Art of Elan at MCASD’s Sherwood Auditorium with ALICE: Re-imagining Wonderland through Music, Dance and Spoken Word. Colette’s choreography has been presented at the SOLA Contemporary Dance Festival, the Florida Dance Festival, by Moving Current Dance Collective, the California Ballet, at The Neurosciences Institute as part of the Performing Arts at The Neurosciences Institute Series, the Vine, the Emerge Modern Choreographers Showcase, the Celebrate Dance Festival, Ray at Night, and many others. Colette has Instructed students, and choreographed for, MiraCosta College, Saddleback College, St. Petersburg College, the University of Tampa, and Eckerd College. She participates in the San Diego Emerging Leaders for the Arts and Culture. Colette graduated with her MFA in Dance from the University of California, Irvine, and is a certified BASI Pilates Instructor currently teaching at the White Light Studio in La Jolla, CA.

Tangocentric:
The TANGOCENTRIC Dance Project is a learning environment where students study, learn and perform. Our dance projects are a unique blend of tango based choreographies and classic dance forms. These dynamic works of contrasting styles create beautiful and thoughtful dance theatre.

Susan Lake, Tangocentric Director:
Susan Lake is a multi-talented visual and performing artist residing in San Diego and Palm Springs, California. The name Susan Lake and the Argentine tango are synonymous throughout southern California. She is the creator of the TANGO BALL, held in San Diego for nine years and producer of the International Argentine Tango Showcase Competition. Susan is currently the Artistic Director for TANGOCENTRIC Dance Project, in residence at Stage 7 School of Dance. Susan has been featured on CNN en Espanol's Detalles Con Sasha highlighting leading Southern California artists. Her storytelling ability through dance is surpassed only by her talent for creating costume artistry that brings her choreographies to life. Susan's headwear designs have been photographed by New York fashion photographer Seth Sabal. Her headwear designs and choreography of Tangolicious...Fashion and Tango! was presented as the closing event of Fashion Week Escondido. CHCDC has joined the Macy’s Community Shopping Day event in order to raise funds for our 2011-2012 Season, community artist collaborations, and community outreach programs.

Join us for Happy Hour Wednesday May 11, 2011 at Alchemy in South Park, San Diego, for a drink and casual conversation while you make your $10 donation to CHCDC and receive your Macy's Community Shopping Day ticket!

With your donation, you receive more than just Dance and Art:
This fundraiser is a win for everyone! With your $10 donation, you receive a shopping pass with exclusive savings and special offers at select Macy's stores on Saturday, May 14, 2011. This includes $10 off your purchase of $25 or more on all regular priced and clearance items, and 10%-20% off throughout the store. This includes both Macy’s stores and Macy’s Home stores. Plus, you can enter to win a $500 Macy's gift card if you enter your ticket information stub in the drawing box located by the escalator of your Macy’s store. If you enter your shopping ticket stub in the drawing box, you may be helping our organization receive a split of all the sales received on May 14th. (The more of our organization’s tickets entered in the $500 Gift Card drawing, the more chance we have to receive Macy’s sales funding with this event.)

How to get your Macy’s Community Shopping Day Ticket:
You can donate your $10 to any CHCDC representative to receive your shopping ticket before May 13, 2011. You must have your shopping ticket in hand on the shopping day of May 14th.
